Pixeom Raises Seed Funding from Lifetime Ventures

September 9, 2026

Pixeom, Inc. has raised seed funding from Lifetime Ventures to accelerate the research, development, and commercialization of its Chemical Vision AI technology.

Born from research at Oita University, Pixeom is developing a new foundation for AI-driven chemistry and drug discovery based on its proprietary molecular representation technology, PSM (Proximity Score Matrix).

PSM is designed to transform three-dimensional molecular structure into an information-rich numerical representation that AI can learn from and analyze. Pixeom is exploring applications across molecular structure recognition and analysis, similarity search, property and activity prediction, and molecular design.

The new funding will be used to strengthen Pixeom’s R&D infrastructure, including its AI computing environment, and to accelerate the development and validation of PSM-based molecular analysis and discovery technologies.

Pixeom will also expand joint research and proof-of-concept initiatives with pharmaceutical companies, universities, research institutions, and drug discovery startups, while building the product and data infrastructure required for future commercialization.

At the core of Pixeom’s approach is a fundamental question: how should AI understand a molecule?

Rather than focusing solely on improving AI models, Pixeom is developing a new way to represent molecular structure itself—with the goal of enabling AI to better understand spatial and structural characteristics of molecules and ultimately support more efficient drug discovery.

With this seed funding as an important milestone, Pixeom will accelerate the real-world application of Chemical Vision AI and expand collaboration across the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors in Japan and internationally.
